You Come Back Here Right Now !

Lacy is a sweet horse and not prone to puttin up a fuss, but this summer Lacy decided she was gonna be the boss!

I happened to show up at the rescue early for a couple days straight. I got there in time to help Bobby muck the stalls, turn-in, and feed. The first morning I showed up everybody ( the horses ) came in without much trouble, except Lacy. She was being stubborn and wanted nothing to do with being in her stall all day, so she took off up into the pasture. It took Bobby about 30 minutes to get up there, find her, and bring her in. The next morning it was more of the same .....

By the third morning Lacy outright refused to come in and Bobby wasn't in the mood to argue with her. Now Bobby is a big guy and he's really the Alpha in the barn. He brings in horses three at a time, and not one of them give him any trouble. This particular morning when Lacy saw him coming she just took off and I heard Bobby yelling at her to "Come Back Here Right Now" ! It was the funnest thing I ever heard Bobby say ... I rolled over laughing watching Bobby try to bring Lacy in. Well, he finally just gave up and Cheryl agreed that it was ok for her to stay out all day. And so, Lacy has spent the summer in the pasture with Spanky, Buster, Charlie, Trudy, and Star. I hope she had a good summer !
